Patricia Steenhuis is the Director of ARThuis.
Born in Western Canada, Patricia spent most of her life in London, Ontario, Canada, surrounded by family, friends, art and music. After completing her graduate studies, Patricia joined the United Nations where she worked for over 10 years.
Patricia has lived and worked in Lebanon, Iraq, New York, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and presently, Slovakia. Living abroad has given her a unique global perspective. It has also fueled her lifelong interest in other cultures, and her appreciation of different art forms.
Patricia is an avid collector and supporter of the arts. Her interest extends to Canadian First Nations artworks, African sculpture, tribal objects from the Middle East and North Africa, contemporary art from the North Caucasus and Western Balkans, and much more.
When in Canada, Patricia calls Vancouver her home. She is married with a young daughter who also shares her enthusiasm for art and all things creative.
